Cookie B. Johnson: Summer Stripes

With summer right around the corner I’m starting to swap out my jeans and long sleeves for dresses and shorts to prepare myself for the heat of a Texas summer. One dress I am very fond of for the summer is this Mock Neck Swing Dress from Hollister. The main reason I love this dress is it can go to dressy with the right pair of heels or casual with flats, sandals or even a pair of tennis shoes. I have been wearing this dress every chance I get when the weather allows me too from dinner at Hibachi to running errands during the day.

Typically, when I wear this dress I go for a more laid back look with a pair of red canvas tennis shoes to add a pop of color to the outfit while wearing little jewelry –usually a pair of stud earrings, a bracelet and a ring or 2-. This is a very summery look which I plan to wear as often as I can because I am currently in love with it. I love the keyhole cutout in the back because it doesn't close off the dress completely adding a bit of design too the back of the dress -if that makes any sense-.
