Fun for Less

I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been in this situation before, you want to go hang out with your friends but you’re low on cash, which leaves you and your friends sitting at home with nothing to do. As many times as this has happened to myself and my friends before we had jobs we came up with a few things to do when we’re low on cash and we just want to have a good time with each other from staying inside, go outside or exploring your city a little more there are endless possibilities you and your friends can do without breaking the bank. This post is sort of the second installment of a post I did awhile back where I shared a few tips to save money which you can read here.

Work it out

I feel like I typically push my friends into this since I like to be outside but 99.9% of the time I somehow corral my friends into going on walks with me or jumping into the pool and spend some time in the sun. This is honestly something that cost no money at all. All you have to do is throw on some active wear and go for a walk, hike swim whatever just let go of the technology and have fun outside.

DIY Party

I don’t think I’ve done this with my friends before but all you’re going to need are a few things you guys want to spruce up, go to your local dollar store or craft store. Buy a tons of different crafty things to do invite all your friends around and have fun getting creative. This is a good way to have a chat with your girlfriends and it’s something that will defiantly bring you guys closer together.

Bust out the Board Games

The 90’s kid is coming out of me with this tip but honestly this is probably my favorite. Board games and the Wii are the main event when it comes to my friends and me spending time together and at family events. Search the hall closet in your house and break out any of the board games you have. Again ditch the phone and have fun laughing with the people you are spending time with.

Free Art Museums

Lucky for us here in Texas we have quite a few art festivals and museums hanging around, one of the most popular being the Dallas Museum or Art. Search online and find out if the city you live in or a nearby town has a day where a museum or an exhibit is free on a particular day and grab a few friends and head out you may even find a few artist or pieces you become a fan of.

Explore the City

Last but not least explore your city, even if you believe you know everything there is about your city go to the city nearby or find a new place in your town and explore it a bit. All you’re going to need is a day pass and a few bucks for lunch –unless you bring one with you- and just walk around and enjoy the day exploring the things you may have never known is around.

  1. I really do love exploring London (it's very easy to do so, lots of things to see!) and going to free art museums...I love the Saatchi!
