This “secret blogger project” post that was actually
supposed to go up last month but lately I have been really busy with school and
work which turned into me not having time to finish this post but here it is
better late than never. As you can see from the title we're talking about pick
me ups. Better known as the things that you feel better, this doesn't
necessarily mean you're sad and you need to be cheered up a pick me up could be
just a time to pamper yourself after a long week and you want to de-stress or something. But then again you can basically use a pick me up whenever you feel is needed no matter what the occasion is.
Here are a few thing I do when I need a pick me up.
Paint my nail
Since I’m not a big fan of acrylic nails (I actually hardly
wear them really just because they murdered you actually nail) I tend to stick
to my natural nails and paint them fun colors depending on the weather, my mood
or my outfit. Recently, I've been loving the Color stay Gel Envy from Revlon in
the shades 100 Cardshark (pink) and 620 Roulette Rush (red)
Curling up with a good book
I've always had a love for reading whenever I pick up a book
it takes me away from reality for a little while. Recently, I have been reading
when feel like winding down or trying to kill time, usually I carry a book
around with me but recently I've been using the ever so handy Wattpad app and
curl up in bed and read for a little bit or until I fall asleep whichever comes
first. Currently, I'm re-read Brave New
World by Aldous Huxley
Exercise
This isn't everyone’s favorite thing to do it’s not even my
favorite thing to do but it is a good way to blow off steam as well as burning
off any extra energy you have. I try to the gym in the morning because it wakes
me up and it’s a good way for me personally to start my day of right. If I
can’t go in the morning I like to go at night because it helps nut me to sleep
after a little bit of an energy burst. This isn't me saying join a gym and go
everyday or go walking every single day right off the back, ease into like
walking or going to the gym once or twice a week then gradually increase. Soon
it will be a part of your daily/nightly routine which will not only give you
physical results to look forward to
(which shouldn't be your main cause do it for your health) but health related
results that will help you in the long run…pun intended.
Face masks and foot scrubs
I used to only hold off on these for sleep overs but I recently
began doing them regularly as a way to relax after a long week of work and school.
Face mask really help me calm down and the foot scrub has worked wonders on my
feet. I've been using and loving Freeman's feeling beautiful Dead sea mineral anti-stress
mask, Golden Grain facial brightening mask as well as the Freeman bare foot
lemon + sage scrub.
There aren't many tips I can give you tips on things to do because it is based on the type of person you are. But I hope these do give you some kind of ideas for the next time you want to treat yourself to a little R&R.
