One of the hardest
thing anyone can go through in their life is learning to love themselves for
who they are or how they look without any type of hesitations about expressing
who they are. With society’s expectation of how a person show be based on their
ethnicity, religion hair color, body type. Heck! Even their sexuality, people tend to
believe that their true self is something that will be looked down upon because
they aren't living up to the things and “expectations” people want to see or
believe should.
If this describes
you, just know being yourself and being able to love yourself will help you
live a happier life –I feel like I say this quite a bit, but hey it’s true-.
There aren't many
tips I can really give you which will help you love yourself that is something
that comes with growing as a person and becoming confident who you are- even though you may never fully know who
you are...That probably doesn't make sense. One thing I can suggest though, is
whenever you look into the mirror and you feel down about yourself look into
the mirror and find something you love about yourself – it doesn't have to be just
physical maybe you like the way you laugh or how helpful you are- and write
it on the mirror with a dry erase marker.
Every time you find
something you love write it on the mirror until you completely run out of
space. But, don't stop there! Keep going keep writing things down if it’s
on a notecard or in a spiral. DON'T STOP WRITING. Again this is something you stretch out for
ages if you say something that funny and you get a few laugh write it down so
you can remember a good time or if you receive a compliment write it down so
you can reminisce on that particular moment where you felt extra special – I
mean to me your special already-.
As you make your
journey throughout life and learning you love yourself just know there are tons
of people who love you for you –including me- and want nothing but the best for
you.
